We started the second day of the thinc Program with a trip to Villanova University where we experienced a very hands-on tour of the Nursing labs. Then we explored the athletic facilities and dormitories. After lunch at the student center, it was off to Mendel Hall for our computer science class. Students learned programming skills using Scratch.
From Villanova we ventured to Barnes and Noble to pick up some reading material for the rest of the week. Thank you so much to Ms. Coni for her generosity. We all found something wonderful to read!
After the bookstore we returned to the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge to work on our hot air balloon project and spend a little time exploring the campus. Einstein Hour was up next and Ms. Patti had five hands-on stations set up for us to learn all about changes.
When we returned to our dorm we reflected on the day and talked about the things we like about ourself that we don’t ever want to change. Here’s a sample from one of the amazing kids we have at thinc 2012…
The qualities that I like and want to keep are my sense of humor and my fun-loving personality. I do plan to expand those qualities far beyond where they are now. I am also a very nice and caring person.
