Martha Rougeux started her career as a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools and later moved to Philadelphia where she taught and served as a school administrator for over 17 years. She has been a classroom teacher, ELL teacher, guided reading facilitator, team leader, eighth grade sponsor, summer program instructor, GEAR UP program coordinator and drama club sponsor.
Martha has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a Keystone Technology Integrator and also serves as a member of the Discovery Educator Network’s Leadership Council. She was honored by the Harrisburg City School District, where she currently teaches sixth grade, as the 2009 Teacher of the Year. She earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Cheyney University. |
Lance Rougeux started his career as a teacher at Julia de Burgos Bilingual Middle School in the School District of Philadelphia. While teaching in Philadelphia he sponsored the technology club and ran a federally-funded after-school program called CELL that focused on character education, citizenship, literacy and leadership.
After teaching in Philadelphia Lance worked as an Executive Policy Specialist at the Pennsylvania Department of Education where he spearheaded many statewide initiatives including Keystones, a program recognized as a success story in the U.S. Department of Education’s National Education Technology Plan, and eSPARC, a research endeavor called the “gold” standard of scientifically-based research by eSchool News. He holds master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Technology in Education from Villanova University and Harvard University, respectively. Lance currently serves as General Manager at Discovery Education. |
